Moving Day!

Our Wilmington Trust office is located in Villanova, PA and we’re moving our offices to Radnor Financial, in Radnor, PA TODAY! It’s an exciting time for our firm because we are consolidating our human capital into one beautiful building. Our Chief Economist and our Chief Investment Strategist will be within an ear shot of my desk, so I’ll be part of real time information. Good for me and good for clients. One of the fun parts of moving is purging of accumulated rubbish. Starting anew. Yesterday, a built-in team effort to purge developed into a fashion show. There were old shoes, feather boas, extra neck ties, socks, hair clips, cigars; the list goes on and on. Why did we have such things in our desk? I admit, the boa was mine. It was a left-over from a girls weekend in Atlantic City. I’m reminded of the opportunity to “clean house” and work smarter and lose the rubbish. An organized space is an organized mind. Remember to purge every now and then. Free-up work space and keep it clean!!...

Although I would argue the importance of it all, I am coming to the realization that it may indeed be time to purge. Fresh starts can be a good thing. Congratulations on your new digs.

Purging is so necessary, yet so hard, so it gets put off. Have been doing some purging recently and it feels good.

Congrats! I used to be much more attached to “stuff” but after a few moves and realizing that I’ve never unpacked boxes of things I absolutely couldn’t get rid of, I’m learning to streamline and pare down!
Corey Bearak

I apply a rule of "disuse" to purge the unnecessary. Application often occurs randomly. Often some not quite purgeable (not for disposition per se but reuse by others) item(s) find(s) a new home.

How ‘bout going paperless except for all those awards, photos and plaques? Happy trails!

My new rule: If I haven’t touched it in 6 months and have no emotional attachment, it goes in the garbage
