Your friend ❤️
Victoria Drogin

This is such an interesting topic. In thinking about it, I know so many people, some of them really well. Some of them I really, really like. And many I think of as dear friends. But actually, In reality, I have very few “friends“. My best friend, Jane, has been primary in my life since I was 24 years old. (Almost 30 years! Gulp). I have one or two childhood friends who are almost more like family. Paul, truly, is my best friend. And also my daughters are my closest friends, and my mom and my sister. I’ve always had “work friends“ or “neighbor-friends” or. “bookclub friends“ etc. that are activity specific. but friendship is a mysterious topic to me. I read Carly‘s blog, (got busy and didn’t get to reply, although I meant to.) And I admired her goal of developing a close “girlfriend“ for true, deep conversation and accountability. That sounded wonderful to me. I read somewhere that it’s hard to develop friends when you get older who aren’t in the immediate orbit of your daily tasks. This past Tuesday evening we had dinner with a couple that we hadn’t seen for a while, and I really, really enjoyed talking with a woman who I’d known for a long time but didn’t know very well. She was so interesting and smart, and we shared a frame of reference and many of the same values around family and interests, etc. I would love to pursue a friendship with her, and sometimes I wonder how, as an adult with busy lives, to go about doing that.
Thanks for the topic, Fred. :) I value you and Jo as dear friends. ❤️

(it also makes me think of that saying: “We have friends for a season, a reason, or a lifetime.”)

A friend in need is a friend indeed. I’ve always felt strongly about that. I’ve been blessed to have a few close friends in my life that were there when I needed them. And I always make sure that I am there for my friends when they need me.

My Trinity friendship is very important to me.

I am very lucky to have a lot of friends, and I make friends easily, but I choose to have very few close friends. Mostly because of time.

In my 6h grade graduation autograph book from P.S 165 back in the 60's,
a "friend" wrote there are Silver Ships
and Golden Ships
But the Best Ship is FRIENDSHIP.
I moved after 6th grade and never saw or heard from him again!

How about Gotham Friends, Book Club Friends,Sports Fan Friends.
All are important for our Social Well Being and our long term health and happiness.
Connections are Key!!

Such wonderful and thoughtful answers and question. Need to think about it before I post an answer

I simply distinguish between friends and Friends. Any explanation comes in person but a friends knows the relationship.
