I first saw it as a fraud alert. The second reference was a professional suggestion forwarded to me.

In case you haven’t seen it, I thought I’d share...

Abbreviating 2020, as in 1/9/20, could be a problem — Especially in legal documents. The fear is that digits could be added causing confusion, or worse.

For example, 1/9/20 could be changed to 1/9/2021. Let’s not speculate on the untoward causes of such an alteration, or its impact; the fact is to avoid the problem in the first place.

It’s advice well taken.

It actually came up last light in a meeting I had with my local NYPD Pct Commanding Officer last night.
