Land Line Anyone?

How many of you out there still have a land line at home?

We still do but frankly, I am not really sure why. The calls that come in on that landline are mostly sales calls, political calls, important notifications that I have either won a car or an expensive trip or that my computer has acquired a terrible virus that can only be fixed by providing immediate access.

You get my point. People who really know and need to reach me call my cell.

Why am I keeping that phone?

[And, of course, how could I end today's blog without wishing each of you a wonderful, happy and prosperous New Year.  Looking forward to continuing to network together in 2020!]

We have 2, can you imagine! However, during Sandy they were key!

We have a landline and have thought about getting rid of it. The batteries don't even work well on the cordless phones anymore; so when one of the few family members who still use that number call, we end up calling back from one of our cell phones. :) Happy New Year!

This may sound like I'm getting old, but we keep the landline because I hear better on it.

You’re keeping for the same reason I’m keeping it but it something we truly never answer

I keep the landline to hear better and make multiple calls

Yes and I refuse to get rid of it even though my wife wants to. We even have an old plug in phone we keep in the closet in case the power goes out.

Six decades with that (landline) #. I have redundancy in phones and like it. Not for everyone.

For several reasons, we can hear better on it, we have Verizon FIOS, not only the best internet service but also installed and serviced by Union Employees (some folks talk the talk but don't walk the walk!), and during emergencies, like Storm Sandy, we have one non-battery hand set. Wishing all a Happy and Healthy New Year!

No more. But I still remember my childhood home numbers. Lol. Happy New Years everyone!

We still have our landline and whenever I'm home I prefer to use that for all calls. My family & friends know that off hours, it's best to call our house line. I have this fear that cell phones are the cause of so many Cancers today....call me paranoid, use my cell mostly hands free, as little as possible. And Happy New Year to all our Tribe! Thank you Nancy & Fred for your awesome leadership :)

While I have a landline at my office, at my apartment I have not had a landline since I moved in over 12 years ago....never once missed it.

We still have one as part of an old triple play package, we we rarely use it. It is nice to know there is a back up too.

I have a landline because during 9/11 cell phones didn't work. Just a back up. And an additional # to give to institutions that I don't want to bother me on my cell phone.

I have a landline because when I can't find my cell, which is often, I call it on my landline and follow the sound. Happy New Year to all.
