Hello Darkness

Categories
Lifestyle

I usually wake up (without an alarm) before 5:30 and loll a while in bed.

However, at this time of year it is far tougher to get out of bed as it is dark.  Pitch black.

Hello darkness, you’re no friend.  No disrespect to the classic Simon and Garfunkel song.

At least there is November 3rd Daylight Savings time to look forward to...

Listen to what your body is telling you! Stay in bed. Best time of year. Cool and dry, great colors and fall baseball!

I concur - I'm surprised when I look at the clock and it's much later than usual

It happened so quickly! I still loll for a bit, it's harder to get up and run which is the part I don't like. Still, we did wake up and we still remember the lyrics!
Daniel Schwartz

I still wake up but don't feel like getting up. I am still not sure clocks should be moved back and fourth. Pick one and keep it. I see more traffic on the Southern State heading east because of sun glare and people slowing down.

5:30?? I stopped there. Never happens for me unless I am leaving on a jet plane. . .

I'm looking forward to Nov. 3rd. Of course, we could all move to the Land of the Midnight sun. FACT: Less depression with more light. Hence...Let there be light. Also, don't knock sleep. It's nature's greatest healer.

Okay Derf . You are way overthinking this manufactured dilemma . Snap out of it for God’s sake . You are supposed to be luxuriating in the “Afterlife. “ I get my lifestyle tips from the animals . You think they be moaning and groaning that it’s too dark ? It must be climate change . Yeah that’s it . We humans shouldn’t have to put up with all this seasonal darkness at 6 AM . There must be something we can do to beat back Mother Nature on this . Perhaps speed up the earth’s rotation by emitting more fluorocarbons in the direction of the earth’s rotation ? Oh ... but that would be counter productive to the greenhouse effect and presumably cause the Sun to shine on the moon . But I heard the tides would over react . Do you think a squirrel lolls awhile in bed waiting for “ let there be light ?” Me ? One of a few things .I lay quietly and listen to the animals stir. All windows and sliders are wide open regardless of the weather. I listen . And beyond that I don’t have a plan . The dogs usually decide the schedule or not . The roosters crow at about 3AM . Now THAT encroaches on my psyche .
