Endless Summer?

Categories
Lifestyle

Could it be that Summer is ebbing in these “dog days”?  If so, there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it.

Could it be that Labor Day and the start of school (and traffic) are just around the corner?

I try to put that out of my mind and tell myself to be in the moment as I dream of an Endless Summer.  Then I tell myself that Fall and beautiful colorful leaves approach, but in the end I am left with the thought that the days are sadly trickling  down.

After writing a draft of this blog I was driving in to work and the sign pictured above materialized before my eyes! Weird, but I decided to take it to heart!  Including my favotite beer Corona (with a lime)!

Enjoy the days remaining. Summer doesn’t end until the Gotham picnic in September.

Autumn doesn't officially begin until September 23rd, so there's plenty of time for Summer fun! Enjoy, celebrate, then when it gets cold put on a sweater and continue to do the same.

All any of us have is this present moment. Do with it as you wish.
Yesterday and tomorrow are just ideas in your head.

I plan to drag out the summer fir as long as weather permits - and then looking forward to enjoying the fall.

I intend to squeeze the juice out of every season. It's still summer according to the sun, the moon and the weather and I intend to enjoy it until Autumn. Then I will enjoy that. And I know you will as well! Nice blog!

Woke up to a clear, crisp 53° morning upstate. So happy fall is coming! My favorite season. The only thing I will miss from summer is the lower volume of traffic!

Summer will always be my favorite season, except the dog days. The road of the ocean at dusk, the fireflies of July on my evening walks, the nocturnal chorus of cicadas in August, the barbecues and outdoor comraderie. Everyone is softer.

I generally take vacation mid-September, as I am this summer. It gives me something to look forward to as the summer ends.

This is the time of year I used to tell all the girls I would see them in September.

So ..... As you know Derf..... Early on I endeavored to choose a lifestyle that would allow me to experience Carpe Diem 365 days a year . 24/7 . And so I do . So Paris in the Springtime , Aspens in the Fall , Mountain living in the winter and summers in Hawaii or anywhere I wanted . So I did it . All the seasons are thrilling but for me I gotta be where the quintessential notes of the time ring the truest . So I chased the seasons . My career allowed me to live wherever I wanted whenever I wanted . Not lucky but planned . As you like to quote Branch Rickey .... “ Luck is the residue of design “ eh Derf ? I’ve been judged and criticized for my choices. But in the end when it’s time to cross the bridge I’m going alone with no regrets . Selfish I’ve been called .But I’m not phased by trivial evaluations . The Endless Summer is a quest . Surf’s up . Grab the ring and keep your eye on the prize . The times they are a changing . Roll with it my friend . It’s there for the taking .

I like the changing of the seasons...one reason why I live here :-)
