Summer Attire

It's summer and that means t-shirts and hats.

I have too many t-shirts and too many hats. Many reminders of places visited. Something about probably being meaningful when I got them.

Last weekend we were in the Berkshires and I donned a t-shirt from Tobay - the South Shore beach of the Town of Oyster Bay on Long Island --- and my baseball cap blazen with “Tanglewood”.

There is something about certain messages in certain places.

First someone came up to me at the Farmers’ Market and told me that his parents took him to Tobay when he was a child. He now lives in Philadelphia.

Next was the regretful store manager who asked me how many times I had been to Tanglewood and lamented that, although she lives down the road from the music venue, she hadn’t been there in years.

And there was another inquiry about Tobay from someone who lived on Long Island and didn’t know about the beach.

Nice conversation spurred by a T-shirt and a hat. Summertime.

Summertime, summertime!! Sounds like we dress alike, Ben. I’m wearing my Van Halen t-shirt and my Billabong hat from my favorite surf shop in Stone Harbor, NJ. Tomorrow’s shirt—Pearl Jam

My favorite tee is an Elvis disguised to look like Levis at first glance

One of my daughter's wardrobe consists of a multitude of shirts with "a message".

My favorite summer tee is from the Flying Monkey Saloon at Fogarty's in Key West. This probably isn't a surprise to most of you. LOL
