I am a partner with the firm and serve as Chair of the firm's Bankruptcy practice group. I concentrate my practice in the area of bankruptcy and restructuring litigation and corporate workouts, and I represent a variety of corporate debtors, trustees, creditors and creditor committees both nationally and locally. My practice also includes an emphasis on equipment leasing and healthcare law, and I have experience in commercial litigation and corporate transactions. In addition to my practice, I frequently serve as a mediator, and have also served as a court appointed examiner and guardian ad litem in several bankruptcy cases.
The firm is a general practice firm with my department focusing on representing various parties in the restructuring or liquidation of financially troubled companies under federal bankruptcy and state insolvency laws.
I was the Chair of the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation from 2004 to 2008 and have served on the Board of Directors of that organization for over ten years. I also served as Co-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute's Healthcare Insolvency Committee from April 2008-2011 and I am currently head of Special Projects for that Committee, as well as Co-Editor of its Health Care Insolvency Manual, Third Edition. I currently serve on the Strategic Planning Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of New York and I am a member of the Mediation Panel for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the Commercial Mediation Panel in Nassau County.
I am an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association and a past Chair of its Bankruptcy Committee. In addition, I serve on the Board of Editors of Pratt's Journal of Bankruptcy Law and I am a past President and board member of Hofstra School of Law's Alumni Association.
