Load Me Up

Categories
Food Blogs

When Passover ends, my thoughts every year turn to the same two items, pizza and bagels. I love a thick slice of pizza loaded with extra cheese and as many vegetables as will fit on the slice. Similarly, I am not a plain bagel person. I cannot resist an everything bagel, bursting with seeds.

In writing this blog, I feel the same about ice cream, no plain vanilla or chocolate for me. I can easily resist either. But show me a container of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food, loaded with caramel, marshmallow, and fudge fish candy and my spoon is quickly out and ready before the container is opened.

I guess one could say that I like my food loaded. How about you?

The catholic girl in me wants to know why you are loading up?
I LOVE food...I just happen to like it pretty ordinary. I have never ordered anything parmagian, deep fried (oreos don't count)---I don't like sweets. I just adore food and the more the merrier.

Rona - I am with you - the more exotic and complex the food is, the more I like it -

Like Donna, I prefer classic and plain! Just with a hint of something extra. However, I do love loaded mashed potatoes!!! Yum!

Pizza post Passover is a nice tradition. I craved bread carbs on Sunday and did stop by a bagel place (not my usual one) on my drive back to Bellerose from Rego Park.

For the uninitiated, some of the best ice cream in the world comes from an Argentine chain, Freddo (which means "cold"). Their dulce de leche is second to none on the planet. They've been trying to open a store in New York, but somehow it never comes to fruition. We'll be in Buenos Aires mid-August for my mother-in-law's 90th birthday, and will definitely partake!
