French assault

Categories

It has been front page news since Wednesday and has France in a state of shock and fear. Al-Qaida's branch in Yemen has said they directed the attack. That "branch" had two earlier failures, the underwear bombler plot and in 2010 tried to send bombs in packages to targets in the US.

What you may not know is that French authorities had both Kouachi brothers under close surveillance after returning fom Yemen where they were trained. However they reduced the surveillance once they believed the brothers led a normal life.

My heart goes out to the families of the hostages that were murdered. To the people of France who now will live in a more heightened state of fear...Je ne ai pas peur, Nous sommes avec vous!

To Al-Qaida...*&%$ you and what you believe you are doing.

I hope they capture that woman alive.

The Intel failures bother me and the ease of getting their weapons. Also apparent lack of security cameras at the magazine's entrance. If the publisher wants to be at risk and expected not to live as his girlfriend stated security of co-workers matter.

" Vive La France! Much of the East (Russia, China, N. Korea) and Mideast see Western values as a threat to their cultures, governments and their power. The new Divide is less geographic than it is ideological. And d it not going away. Fasten your seatbelts. Freedom is not free and the price is increasing with each assault.

All this hate in the world is exhausting. I still wonder if perhaps, just perhaps, things might begin to change if the news outlets focused on reporting good news instead of giving hate so much publicity. It wouldn't change people's differences; people will always have differences. However if people who hate were not assured of fame via the news, maybe they wouldn't be so quick to do the things they do.
