Made the list

One of the unique benefits of using Zoom for meetings is that anybody can connect with you from anywhere. This past week I was on Zoom investigating a new piece of software. The sales person I was talking with was located in New Zealand. As she was describing her life and the country, I realized that this would make my bucket list (which is very short actually ;-)

Do you have one?

It keeps changing ... which might mean I don't have one. But I can say New Zealand has been on it.

Japan and Israel are both on my bucket list. When I was 14, my dad went to Japan for a month for work. He returned with a love for the Japanese culture. In fact, he made us try sushi at the time, which was a delicacy and only served in one restaurant on Long Island. With respect to Israel, all of my kids went on Birthright and it remains on my list.

I no longer desire the rigors and health hazards of long haul flights so I will miss the wonders of Asia and the South Pacific. Rather, I'm drawn to the possibilities of an an inland cross-country paddleboat narrated tour of the Louis & Clark Trail and revisiting the splendors of Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest with its 172 islands and where I first discovered star fish, floating kelp and jellyfish navigating seaside boulders and the pungent smell of salt water; and maybe one more time camping and climbing the trails and scaling the waterfalls and vistas of Mount Olympia or Banff and Lake Louise in Canada. Part of my legacy will be sponsoring the Fresh Air Fund.

I have some history with Japan...my grandfather was there after the war and didn't want to come home

I would love to see New Zealand, Australia and Japan. Heck, I still haven't been to Europe, so that may be a starting point.
