Air Travel

Is it a burden, necessary evil or a joy?

Plane flights are an assault on the human body from defrocking at security to squeezing into a seat on the plane. However, the excitement of where you are going helps you tolerate the discomfort.

They try to make you comfortable in seats that give you juuuuust enough room to exist by providing drinks, smiles (sometimes), pillows,  blankets, earphones and a screen right in front of you to watch and be distracted.

All that aside, airline travel is revolutionary and has made us a truly global species.

As a frequent flyer, I learned to cope and have my routine. My biggest gripe with air travel in the last few years has been frequent delays. Unpredictable and always annoying.

Things have changed over the decades from when I used to double book flights and take the one I got to first and the ease of boarding. There is so much uncertainty and confusion and so many restrictions. Still you are correct, it allows us opportunity tor adventure and opportunity. Safe travels!

Having touched foot on all 7 continents, air travel is critical. What I dont like is that airlines (who received big bailout checks) have made their frequent flier program points less valuable over the years. Delta is revamping their whole program after AA did it 2 years ago. Cash in those miles before they're useless!
