Open Air Driving returns

On Sunny days I might slide back the cover to the moon roof on our 'blue car" and let the 'shine in when I drive; there were some opportunities when the week began.  But I really got to enjoy some short drives with the moon roof open as the weekend ended.  It was something missing with the prior blue vehicle and an important attribute of this one.  While running the air conditioning remains an option, there is something special about fresh air and we took advantage, especially yesterday on the drives to visit mom in Mount Vernon and later to the birthday party for our friend Carin. It rained in the evening so we passed on the option on the ride back home.

As a kid, we never had a sunroof. As a young adult, I had one and used it. As I got older, I used it less. Too much noise for my make shift office where I often made calls from. Too hot down in Florida to use it most days. Now we rarely if ever open it, really only to vent out the hot air upon start up only. Sun roofs no longer hold that special place in my car driving needs.

Great topic Corey, thanks for sharing! As a kid my father aka Padrini was in the car business and he had a red Alfa Romeo Spider convertible so we have always had some type of open air cars. Wouldn't buy one without it. Easy Vitamin D!

Depending on the “gear” I darn a warm even hot breeze can be welcome. As to the mobile office piece, the close button works when needed.

Great reminder. I have to open the roof and enjoy the weather.

We still vent the old fashioned way...rolling down the windows. It's a way of staying in touch with the environment and avoid being
hermetically sealed off. Happy trails!

The SunRoof/ Moonroof is that quasi alternative to a convertible. My first real car (second defect) was a Chevy Impala convertible.
