We are planning my youngest daughter, Sydney’s wedding. It is such a different experience planning your child’s wedding, as opposed to planning your own. 

For example, when we went bridal gown shopping, all I wanted was to see was my “baby,” in a huge princess dress.  Being the accommodating youngest child that she is, she begrudgingly put one on for me. Her face said it all, this was not for her. The attendant in the bridal salon even gently said to me, “Mom, you have to get out of your vision and get into hers.”  Ten dresses later, as she was wearing a dress that I never would have chosen, her face radiated happiness. That was her dress, her vision.

I learned that day to give up control. While I can gently offer my opinion one time it is her wedding and her and her fiancée's choices.  It is their vision that controls. For a self-admitted control freak like me, this has been more difficult than I imagined.
