Cable: Yay or Nay?

Categories

My husband and I  have recently realized that, other than the national and local news, the only network television show we watch is Shark Tank. Everything else we watch is available through the networks that we stream. Technically so is Shark Tank but we still watch it on  cable.

So we have begun having THE discussion. Do we cancel cable and rely solely on the sites we stream? I have been opposed to the idea of removing cable from our lives for one reason: I am a news junkie. While I read news online from various websites, I also look forward to watching the news every evening on television; both local and national.  I am unsure how we would do so without cable.

Are you relying solely on streaming networks? What has been your experience?

Sports and certain local news matter; I need it for work. So if I ever retire that allows for an interesting discussion. Also when I seek to stream when not home but use an app the first question is who is cable provider?

Tough one. My old Plasma TV is not so smart. I would need to upgrade that which I love the picture. But financially leaving cable makes sense.

I too watch Shark Tank - it's the only show I watch. I do not watch the news. If I want to see movies, I stream. But having the bundle of services gives me options. I like options. That was not helpful was it?

I'm sorely tempted but does it really save money when you add up the streaming service fees and the baseline internet subscription from my local provider?
