Early Riser

Categories
Lifestyle

As I mature I find myself awaking and getting out of bed earlier and earlier.

Early?  5:00ish to be exact.

I manage my waking time and the requisite minimum 7 hours slumber by trying to be in bed by 9:30, supplemented by occasional afternoon naps.

In doing so, I usually awake rested and ready to go and go I do.  I find the private time alone with my coffee so useful in getting so many things done and being ready for the challenges of the day ahead.

Yes, it is dark now and more difficult, but it is still a functional luxury.

It puts meaning to the old expressions “You have to get up pretty early in the morning…” and “The early bird gets the worm.”

Getting up early allows for more time to get things done. At least it feels that way.

I wake up really early, but as I get older - I allow more time to languish in bed- reading the paper on my phone. And doing all the New York times puzzles for the day.

Thanks for sharing.
They say the early bird catches the worm! Some also say morning people are more successful in business (notwithstanding many late risers who are very successful).
The reasons for morning people being more successful seems to be linked to their general attitude and mindset.
A Harvard biologist, Christoph Randler, did some research on this and concluded that early birds are generally more proactive, and this results in higher levels of productivity.
That being said, the early bird catches the worm because there’s a great sense of achievement in attacking the day.
ATTACK THE DAY.

I like the quiet time in the morning. I can’t jump out of bed and get moving as quickly as I used to! I like to get up earlier and give myself a little more time to greet the day prepared.

Early birds rule the world. I prefer the late night talk shows and BBC.
