“The Phantom of the Opera,” the longest-running show in Broadway history will end its 35 year  run on February 18, 2023.  Almost 20 million people have seen the show, on Broadway, since it opened on January 26, 1988.  Since the first production in London in 1986, the show has been seen by more than 145 million people around the world.

The mask-wearing opera lover’s obsession with a young soprano is known for its over-the-top spectacle and melodrama.  It is known for some beautiful songs (“The Music of the Night” and “All I Ask of You”) and the chandelier which crashes onto the stage each night.

What are your memories of “Phantom”?  Will you try to see it again or for the first time before it closes?

I saw it years ago in the early 1990's with my then girlfriend. It was a great show, but I enjoyed watching my dates reactions more. It brought here to tears at some points and that was the most vivid memory I had of that evening.
