I admit I’ve been a bit of a royal watcher over the years.  It started with my interest in Diana.

The past few days have been historic for royal watchers.  Literally, the world changed.

With the passing of the Queen, a new era is ushered in.  I can’t help but think will we see real differences in the way the monarchy comports itself?  It has been of interesting to watch now King Charles amongst the people of London, shaking hands, eye to eye, and shoulder to shoulder.  There is talk of a scaled back palace.

We shall see.  For now, a family, albeit an imperfect one (but whose isn’t?), grieves the loss of their matriarch.

I find it curious that one of his roles is to be the head of the Church of England, which prohibits divorces. Yet he is divorced. Interesting. . . .

When I was down with COVID way back in the beginning, I had "The Crown" running constantly. The Monarchy has survived many challenges and transitions. Queen Elizabeth was a formidable woman and, in my opinion, a great leader. I'm not sure they will have another that comes close. But I assume the monarchy will go on.
