COVID 22

I tested positive for COVID less than 2 weeks ago.

Since the inception of the COVID 19 Pandemic I had been unscathed.

As time passed, I think subconsciously, I felt immune.  Afterall, I had been vaccinated with 3 added
boosters.

Eventually, despite constant cautionary advice, I let my guard down.  For instance, I wore a mask less and less and regularly dined out indoors.

I have tried to trace back to how I contracted it, but I am at a loss.

Once the symptoms cropped up, I listened to advice and began taking Paxlovid (despite the Rebound chatter).  In my case it brought on a “not bad” condition, ie, as a consequence, the worst symptoms have been a hacking cough and phlegm on my chest.  To date, I have not experienced the Rebound.

I tested again after the passage of 6 days of quarantine and, glory be, it came up NEGATIVE (up is down and down is up)!!!

One of the most disappointing aspects of this ongoing unfortunate experience was my transmission of COVID to my wife Joanne and her friend who we visited.  For this and much of the above, I am truly sorry!

I try to find silver linings and hope the hard earned antibodies and experience protect us going forward.

And thank you to all the well wishers who kept up a constant stream of positive vibes!

For those of us who are rarely if ever sick, getting COVID or anything else is a real shock to the psyche. And I too worry more about giving it to others. Glad you're on the other side of it and hope Joanne and her friend are as well.

So glad you are feeling better! I too thought Covid would pass me by but defying all science I got it while playing golf with someone who had not yet tested positive despite her daughter having Covid. I went on Paxlovid despite mild symptoms and I did get the REBOUND...not fun! Having said that, like you Fred, I look at the positive and agree- I hope to have strong antibodies now. Sorry to hear about Joanne. My husband stayed with me throughout and thankfully did not get Covid. Hope she feels better soon.

I'm glad your feeling better! You seem to have gotten back to your usually Jovial self rather quickly. You looked great! I wish Joanne and her friend a speedy recovery and I hope you're taking good care of her!

The hardest thing to deal with is infecting the people we love.
It was also great to see you out an about last night. .

Glad that you are on the mend. Being cautious 24/7 is exhausting. I traced my first infection back to the supermarket!

I believe we will all get it eventually and that may be the best case ultimately, to try and beat this thing. I got over my "late" bout a little over a month ago. My sense of smell is finally almost 100% back. My wife likely gave it to me when she was at her retail job. She still has a dry cough now and then as a reminder of what once was. My son, never got it as far we can tell. Perhaps up will be up again for you. Wishing all a safe journey.

COVID 22 is everywhere and depressing to always be considered. Glad you are better and hope Jo recovers, too. Look forward to seeing you at the Game!

Glad you're feeling better and hope Joanne and her friend are ok. As Dr. Fauci said, unfortunately Covid-19 will likely be around for a long time - fortunately thanks to some quick scientific breakthroughs, it's no longer the killer we had come to know well.

A Poem for Fred Klein:

I wear a mask
everywhere.
People may stare,
But I don't care.
I look funny but not to my Honey.

Unfortunately, with global warming, Covid and other viruses are here to stay and torment. In the meantime, in addition to vaxes and boosters and nano nutrition, I leave nothing to chance. I follow the Beljanski Method for optimal immunity. Nothing else can explain how I could sit next to a Covid infected guest at Passover dinner - 3 hours - and all the guests got Covid but me. Thanks for sharing!

I don't want to jinx it but I haven't gotten it yet. . . .

Fred, I also got Covid and took Paxlovid. I did have the rebound. However, both times my symptoms were like a day and half of low fever 100.8, and feeling tired. Unfortunately, I also gave it ot my wife who was pissed at me because it delayed seeing our new grandson.

Fortunately, it's al lin the past and I don't think I have any residual effects. They are saying (whomever they are) that eventually everyone will get COVID as it mutates. Not unlike everyone getting a cold, I guess. The good news is we've been vaccinated and boosted, so the effects are mild.

I restarted my exercise regiment but at about a 75% level. I've read that one should ease into exercise and not go full bore right away even if you think you can.

Hope you are back to normal soon.

I'm glad, too, of course, that you are feeling better, and hope you have a complete recovery ~ please don't rush back to things, tempting as that might be. I know, I know, you had a negative test, and I'm nagging. I don't care. Please stay well, and please also convey my get-well wishes to Joanne and her friend.

Good to see you last night and hope the Yankees didn't put too big a dent in your evening. Glad you are feeling better and hope your wife and friend fully recover quickly.

I’m glad you’re feeling better. We’re living in a fools paradise if we think this will ever go away. Vivid is here to stay :(
