Santas Return!

Categories
Holidays

Ever since our boys were young we’ve decorated our hearth with Santas big and small.

As the years passed “Santas” became a hallowed, enjoyable family tradition with our grand kids replacing our now adult sons with me as the only constant.

Then came COVID and we were compelled to break tradition last year. It was a very sad and difficult decision, but better safe than sorry.

This year I was determined and despite the latest surge, Santa and his mask wearing helpers (pictured) got it done.

There is something so rewarding about the determined perpetuation of a wonderful Family tradition :)

Happy New Year!

Love it. Traditions are everything. We usually have all the kids for dinner and presents Christmas Eve, but as our families are blessedly growing, there are obligations they have with “the other parents-to-be” so we moved our Christmas Eve one day early, and it was wonderful. And Paul and I found a day to recover! here’s to stretchy traditions and staying flexible. Lol

Great post, tradition is whete it's at. Because of my Uncle Walter moving to Tampa and some family dying, we have lost our Christmas eve huge family dinner tradition which I badly miss. Happy New Year Gothamites!

Our family tradition starting with taking Dante anD Lizzy to the nutcracker ballet and purchasing them nutcrackers.
Since that time, each year our three children receive a nutcracker from Susan and I. Our house is wonderfully decorated with nutcrackers and now Lizzy decorates her house with her nutcrackers and the grandchildren are enjoy our family tradition.
Merry, Merry to all.

Great post. In our family everyone has their own menorah. All of my kids were thrilled that we bought our grandson his own Noah's Ark menorah this year. It's nice to see that they appreciate the tradition.
