Every year this question comes up in the office. Are you coming in on Columbus? And every year the answer is the same, I’m not certain.

 

I’m in the office today, catching up on paperwork.

 

Are you in the office? Or do you take off on Columbus Day?

I am in the office today. We do not get it off as a holiday. But on a positive note, I got in in record time as there was no traffic on the Southern State.

Colleges are open but I don’t teach on Mondays. Good day to catch up on meetings and I schedule clients Mondays and Fridays. So yup, working :))

It's a regular Monday for me. Noted the barricades on 5th Ave for the parade and then realized it was Columbus Day and then noted the barricades around Columbus statues in and around the Park and realized it's Indigenous People's Day. And so I went back to business as usual.

Same confusing question. Always forget that our office is closed -- and then work a whole day anyway. What's wrong with this picture?
