Mets, Yankees, Citi Field

It was a special night.  I think my tweet captured the sentiment.

We gathered at Citi Field last night.

It involved more than a game.

Shelly posted on Facebook some nice pics of the pre-game ceremony.  The outcome on the field remained secondary (thought there certainly are those happy or not at that) to the commemoration.  Bottom line, a worthy tribute occurred and those who attended in our two groups, or who supported our gatherings, helped raised funds to support worthy causes (those decisions happen later this year and next June respectively).

For those who missed last Sunday’s blog, I include the content here until it finds it way to this beautiful new website:

A change is gonna come

Friday's blogger directed me not to post today but Gotham's webmaster overruled him early today.

Visitors to this wonderful resource which coincidentally hosts my Sunday blog will soon experience some wonderful things here that I leave to others to outline and reveal.

So please....stay tuned!

I am certainly am!

Can't remember being happier than when I learned of Judge's second Homer which turned despair into fantasy! Thank you for all your worthy work!

Beautiful evening that I was glad to share with my family (both in this case). I was one of the unfortunate ones that had to listen to the ending, driving in my car, go a different way than hoped for (Mets fan) but what great place to be to honor our lost heroes.

The 9/11 Memorial Ceremony was very well done by the Mets Management. I will never forget the sound and sights of the NYPD Police band marching in with their bagpipes. The spirit of the teams of today and from 2001 was touching, too. The young singer who sang America the Beautiful was fantastic. Just a moving experience. Thanks to Corey for arranging tickets for us all.
Only problem of the night is that Baseball can be so SLOW and long.

Great job Corey putting together yet another wonderful Gotham Day at Citi Field! Everything was what it should be - except the score, do not judge lest ye be Judged - and the tribute was tastefully and momentously done. The interspersing of Mets and Yankees on the baselines provided great symbolism at - sadly - a time of great dissonance among various factions of our state and national citizenry. The arranging of the various national and local heroes honored for their sacrifice for the greater good was musically, culturally and logistically brilliant. Kudos to all, and to all a peaceful year of community, commonality and camaraderie. #LetsGoNewYork

My daughter's boyfriend's father died in the towers. I've always felt sad that we would never have the chance to know him. Today we went to a 20 year memorial at his temple. There were so many beautiful stories told about him by friends and family. We felt privileged to be there.

Thank you Corey and Gotham. My Team and I had an amazing time at the game. It was one of the most exciting games I have ever been too. Can't wait for the next Gotham Subway series.
