Snoozing

Categories
Lifestyle

I’m a snoozer. I habitually set the alarm clock (actually set Alexa) for ten minutes before I really have to get up. Then when the alarm goes off, I happily set it to snooze for ten minutes. And I turn over and sleep for another ten minutes.

My husband is the opposite. After almost seventeen years of being married, it still amazes me that he just pops up and gets out of bed when the alarm goes off.

My husband argues that my snoozing is unhealthy. That I would get better sleep if I just set the alarm for ten minutes later, when I actually have to get up. But I continue snoozing.

Are you a snoozer?

I wake up without an alarm about a half hour before I get out of bed and in that twilight time I muse :)

I think it depends on the person. Paul gets right up. For me it depends on how I slept, what my day looks like, and my mood. But I definitely wake up more gradually. And with coffee while I read the news. (I also don’t necessarily think one way is “better“ or “worse” - it’s whatever works for you.)

I'm married to a get-up-and-go type. I am a slow entry and have a morning routine that takes about 20 minutes and includes deep breathing, listing 5 things I am grateful for, and going over the things I want to get done that day. Then I am up and ready. If snoozing for 10 minutes works for you, then do it! How we get up is the last thing we really can control once the day gets started. .

Always get right up if an alarm is set. Wife loves to snooze. I know this topic came up a year or so ago and I still think, overall, men tend to pop right up and women like to snooze. Just an observation.

Oddly enough when I have to wake up super early (around 5am) I can get right up, but when I have to wake up at my usual time (around 7am) I snooze.

Like everyone else on here also have my morning routine, minimum of two cups of coffee and reading the news.
