Drive My Car

I looked at the blog last year at this time and read that I posted a new song list relating to driving. Apropros because my son got a first car a few days ago and yesterday embarked on his first road trip to enjoy his new device. I say device because my son remains a tekkie at heart – first in the family with a MacBook, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch – and his new vehicle seems more computer than vehicle! His sister agrees! I recall when Friday’s blogger talked about getting one of these but reversed course. Well Jonathan got his Tesla and it runs rather different than my gas-powered car. Not sure I’d say space age but it certainly fits the personality of anyone comfortable around tech. I know he’s enjoying and I am happy; so is his mom; unlike his dad he certainly took his time securing a first vehicle. Different priorities perhaps. But still a nice thing. Drafting this made me recall this song which "drove" this blog's title.

I test drove a Tesla...really quick, nimble and clean design. No stick shift though

Interesting first car. Full of tech for sure. Just be careful with Tesla, repair centers are few and far between. Mainly a concern if a part is ever damaged or needs replacing. Wait times can be months. Otherwise a really nice ride.

The Tesla is the future.
We love our 2000 Corolla.

My first was 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Trying to drive it from showroom onto Middle Neck Road. Was 17 and impatient (had Eye of the Tiger blasting). Just picked a spot and pulled out...no accident

Mine was supposed to be a Model T but I didn’t want to wait for the new model. Got a Stanley Steamer instead

I learned how to drive at 14 and have driven all types of domestic and foreign cars including an Edsel and various trucks. When I lived in FL I bought a hybrid and quickly got rid of it - no zip and too many gauges to distract me. Now I don't even know how to start the cars my kids drive. It's mass transit for this former Motown gal.

I have a friend who has been driving Teslas since they were first were available. He loves it.

Interesting in the stick. I’d argue the “stick” is found on what I’ll call the acceleration pedal.

Interesting point as I use my regular repair shop over the dealer for our “white” and “blue” cars.

‘70 Supreme that almost looked like a Camara was car #2 and I drove it home from Detroit. I layer enjoyed a # of “Supremes” as leases in the 90 until discontinued and shifted to Intrigue and later an Equinox which was last of leases.
