Heartbeat of Love
On or after or sometimes before this day – always a Saturday eve, my (fraternal) lodge would hold a “sweethearts dance” and for the last couple of years it did not happen and a several couple got together on our own; this year the pandemic offered an easy excuse. Hopefully, next year will see its return. In the meantime on the first time Valentine’s Day fall on the same day I blog I share my Songs of Love playlist.
Each link works and I even added two songs to the list, 65 strong on YouTube, as I prepared to draft this song, including the studio version to precede the live song that previously opened the YouTube list. The other song came to mind when I considered a different Mamas & the Papas tune by the but the lyrics did not fit. A companion list may be found in Apple Music.
The story goes that, in the summer of 2016 a good friend and his wife celebrated their 50th year of marriage. I posted a blog that included many of these songs but not in any curated order.
This list results from that time and included many on a cassette tape from many years ago that I played on my car stereo on my first date with Shelly and select songs I added since. A Richie Furay song (and CD) provides this blog’s title.
All on the topic of this day.
Do enjoy and share.
