I Did It

It has been a long time coming but I did it. I made the trip into the office and spent a day at my desk.

Sure, it was different. Plexiglass everywhere, hand sanitizer literally every few steps, and a bucket of wipes the size of which I have never seen. Perhaps the most difficult change for me is the taped-up coffee machine. No communal coffee.

But none of that was able to put a damper on the excitement of being back in the office. I was practically giddy.

To be honest, the extent of that emotion caught me off guard. I knew I wanted to get back in – but I think I underestimated how “normal” it felt to physically be in the office.

While I do not plan to be in the office every day just yet, I am absolutely planning my next trip.

For me, a small but positive step forward.

I heard on radio being in subway is safer than in office. Who knew?

I would imagine I'd be able to have my own coffee maker in my office

It's exciting to watch this "return to work" phase. I'm glad you had a positive experience except for the coffee situation. No doubt a future blog will let us know how you handle that.

It's a start. My office has us reporting in once a week for now. But I drive in to Commack. No subway for me.

So happy for you. We re-open the School of Business in September. Looking forward to being back, but nervous about trying to teach (connect, inspire, manage, SEE) in a mask and shield with half the class in person and half in a zoom! Keep you posted!!! So glad it went well and felt good.

My first venture to the office since March was last Sunday....for a few minutes to drop something off.... no-one else around.

Double comment today! Its a good day! And, yes, I took the subway. That part was weird.

It's a little bit of normal and a little bit of not normal.
