Happy Father's Day

Father's Day

Once again I get to take advantage of a Sunday blog gig falling on a day where we give thanks; this time to our dads (I even qualify for this one.). Let me start with a tradition I started sharing a wonderful song for this special day by current Poco bassist and vocalist Jack Sundrud.

After my morning coffee outside (See spot in pice at left.).  We plan to celebrate with a BBQ, our usual tradition. Last year at this time, my daughter lived a coast away; this year she’s home and her mom and dad look forward to her presence at today’s gathering. In a nice twist, making it an extended day of sorts, lox and bagels brunch to start, supplied by Jonathan.

I also look forward to Phase Two tomorrow this side of the border (A short walk east or south puts me there already.).

Keeping with a personal blogging tradition, thank you not just to my dads and granddads, but to those many other dads I know (all the others out there!) who also do a heck of job. Give yourselves a nice hand. And to satisfy my curiosity, share how you expect to or know how you plan to celebrate/ are celebrating today in the comments to this blog.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! You (we) deserve it!

Lucky to be spending the day in NM with my 91-year-old father. I braved the airlines, washing and wiping my way here. Happy Father's Day to all Gotham Dads!

Most important job we’ll ever have. I’m being surprised with something...I...don’t...quite...know....yet.

Happy Father's Day to All.
I will listen to the Poco song in your honor Corey!
Lots of Gothamites doing exciting and Big things to honor their Dads. Cheers!
Heading to Prospect Park to do a distance picnic with my daughter and her fiance!

I got special wake up to slice of homemade layer cake my wife made with a cup of Kauai Coffee (my favorite). Then went to brunch at Franks Steak house in Rockville Centre (bottomless Bellini's Mimosa/s and Bloody Mary's, yum). They had nice outside dining (very low turnout due to newness of opening, so nice and private). Later, we go to in-laws for a BBQ. All in all a nice and relaxing day so far. Enjoy Dads out there.

You have a knack for sharing tunes I do not recall.

Just dropped a big fryer on the grill . Soaked with garlic EVO and paprika . 3 hour cook . Cold Heineken in the green bottle . No music today . Just wild life and breeze . Not often to get a “ leave dad alone “ day . Ever had a chicken right off the spit ? No baseball to fracture the moment . Being a dad is a tough job . It lasts for ever . Never goes away . Anybody tired yet ?

Happy father’s day to all those amazing men, we call Dad.

We brought in barbecue for Phil. It's his favorite. He was so happy to have that and be with the kids for the day. He's so easy.

Nice
We had a bad experience ordering in that involved door dash (we ordered direct from venue; it used DoorDash which delivered allegedly but not to our home on Sat. Eve.
So we settled on never doing delivery unless venue used it’s own staff. Was happy to grill as planned. Marisa made delightful sides.
It s a nice and long day. Did not touch Mac until very late.
