Holiday Letters

Categories
Holidays

Last week, we received a holiday card and letter from our cousin. It was filled with news from their family from the past year.

I remember when we used to receive numerous holiday letters from friends and family. They all, generally, would recap the past year and shares what the families had been up to. These letters always made me smile. It made me feel connected to the writers even though they may have been far away. And it gave me a chance to take a moment and catch up with loved ones.

With email, social media etc. holiday letters have become a lost art. In a way I miss them. While I stay connected to those family members and friends that mean a lot to me, a holiday letter was something special. There was something unique about receiving a letter in the mail and reading it with my family.

Do you write letters anymore?

Happy new year Gotham!!!

I have a relative from my paternal grandma's side who writes holiday email updates. It must be for 20-25 years I have bee receiving them.
As to sending I do not. I just try to keep in touch throughout the year. I hope I do it reasonably well

I write notes and letters more rarely.

I still receive several holiday letters. I do not partake in them myself, but do send out a family picture postcard with just a few pictures from the year.

I love them. Social media like Facebook (for us old people) has replaced many of them.
