Change is in the air

Winter is upon us. The leaves have turned and are falling off. The cold is invading and I'm cleaning out my fireplace today to start the burn.

Until yesteday, I had forgotten how the cold knifes through your clothes and brings a chill. For those in warmer parts of the planet, you probably don't miss that.

However, it is a sign and although it may be unpleasant for a bit, I welcome it. I love the changing seasons. I know that my favorite holiday is right around the corner (say hello turkey day) and that snow will be appearing soon.

Are you ready? I have already put my order in for 2 turkeys and 2 ducks :)

I've already broken out my sweaters and warm coats. We're headed to Florida for Thanksgiving (again) this year. I'm hoping for a reprieve of warmth before settling in for that long winter's night.

Went for my first post-freeze country walk yesterday.
Such a contrast to nature’s spring and summer symphonies. Stark silence replaced the chorus of chirping birds and nocturnal seranade of crickets. Happy Thanksgiving!

Not a fan of the cold. I do like a good snow storm now and then, but that burning bone chilling cold with shorter days, I can do without.

I love the changing of color on the trees. Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons. I do enjoy a beautiful white Christmas but I would like winter better if it was in the 40's and 50 degree weather. The bone chill I can do without. Happy Winter
