What's On Your DVR?

My husband and I are finding ourselves with a shortage of good television to watch. We are still mourning the loss of Game of Thrones. We generally DVR the programs we want to watch and, lately, the DVR is relatively empty.

We both look to television to help us, momentarily, forget the tension in our lives and destress. I enjoy programs like Grey’s Anatomy (been watching it from the beginning) and Shark Tank. My husband, on the other hand, is still enjoying The Black List. I lost interest in the Black List three seasons ago.

What can you recommend for this television starved pair? What is on your DVR?

Having the same issue my DVR is almost empty---Madam Secretary, Blacklist, All Rise, BlueBloods are basically it, still also watch SVU. Netflix has a few that have new seasons such as Kominsky Method.

Paul and I loved Game of Thrones (hated the last season!) We escape to our shows too. We have enjoyed Yellowstone (at Neil’s recommendation), Breaking bad and Better Call Saul, The man in the high castle on Amazon prime, True detective, seasons one and three, Chernobyl (which was intense), sharp objects and gentleman Jack on HBO, The haunting of hill house, Altered Carbon.... I lost interest in walking dead, and This is Us was a bit too heart wrenching. Hmmmm. I guess we watch a lot of TV! Haha (That’s why I started knitting!) Xo

This is Us, Chicago Fire, New Amsterdam and 911 are all worth watching. I still enjoy Blacklist too. But for live TV, sports overrule all else for me.

There's a lot of variety. I'm pretty new to Netflix and it has been entertaining. I liked a few series but I generally binge watch to find out the end. The ones I loved were Spy (Israeli) and What If with Renee Zelweiger. She's amazing. I do love documentaries so there is a lot to choose from.

I miss Game of Thrones too. We still watch Madam Secretary and Blacklist, though I'm getting bored with both. The Crown is coming back to Netflix in November. :)

My wife and I just finished watching "I'm Sorry" on Netflix - my kids turned me onto it. We couldn't stop laughing.

Money Heist on Netflicks was the favorite TV program in Europe in 2018. I love it and am watching the three years now available for the 2nd time. It is from Spain. I don't keep track of the ones I watch although I remember the names when I see them. Maybe we should have a page of recommendations on all platforms on FredsList, with a line about why we liked it. I am always attracted to those shot in places outside of the US; it adds another dimension to my enjoyment.
