Around Age 10

Around Age 10

We’ve been going through the bittersweet task of organizing my parents’ photo albums. They’re not just filled with pictures, they’re full of memories. Literally, memories -- letters, notes, and cards neatly taped alongside the photos.

As we worked our way back to the very beginning, I found myself looking at my own baby pictures in a new way. There were so many, year by year. At first, I wasn’t even sure I recognized myself.

Well, except for one thing. In my earliest years, I was very blond and so I knew that those photos of the blond baby were me. Yes, I know, that definitely changed.

By around age 10, though, I started to look like “me” to me. I won’t be sharing the many hair phases that followed, but from then on, I started to be able to recognize myself.

Have you had an experience looking through your own baby pictures?
