Social and beyond

With the explosion of apps and online business models, it was just a matter of time before someone came up with this. A service that will continue to post to Facebook and Twitter and even LinkedIn after you're gone and not just in a different room...gone from this reality.

If I die lets you post a video or text message on Facebook. Their tagline "What will you leave behind?". The video on the home page is funny. If you think it's creepy they already have 200,000 users.

A new service that starts this month that was created to Tweet after your gone called Lives On uses the tag "When your heart stops beating, you'll keep tweeting." They actually analyze your main twitter feed, learning about your likes, tastes, syntax then after you've bit the bullet...it will Tweet on for you.

And...Dead Social. A free service that allows you to continue to post on Facebook, Twitter and LinkeIn. They guarantee your messages will be sent for the next 100 years.

Imagine sending a Facebook post from the grave or Tweeting your favorite quote to your followers after you've passed away. I was wondering what would someone post...

Hey (friend)...you still owe me that $20 and I'm coming back for it

The weather here is great

Someone bring me my MiFi, it's hard to get a good connection up here

What would you post?

Not sure I would. When the time comes I want to live on by deeds, actions, words -- but through others telling the story. That represents immortality to me.

And Corey you will live on by deeds but me just bring me a roast beef on rye with a sour pickle because I'll get tired of eating those ashes.

While we find this amusing, I wonder how the "younger generation" perceives it. My 17 year old is constantly tweeting. She would love this.

Although I usually have plenty to say, I'll stick to the words coming from me while I am on earth.

Just the thought of anyone having access to my account when I am gone gives me anxiety...lol
Would't it unerve you to see something from someone you know is deceased? Especially when you are older and forget whether they are decesaed or not?
This stuff creeps me out, cause I lierally planned to rest in peace :)
