Email Apnea

Do you have it? Have you ever found yourself holding your breath while answering email?

Apparently, not knowing the content of the emails or texts you are about to read creates anticipation. Coupled with an ever increasing volume of those emails and texts, that anticipation can lead to spontaneous shallow breathing and even breathholding. Kind of like sleep apnea. I heard about this phenomenon only recently but it has been reported for a few years now.

I hadn’t noticed it but now that I am paying attention, I think I have some form of this email apnea thing. The recommended fix seems to be taking breaks from email. I think I will.

Have you ever heard of email apnea? Do you think you have experienced it sometime when you were tackling a particularly large number of emails?

I like some of Fred's emails. (And no, I've never heard of nor have I experienced email apnea.)

I think I stopped breathing when I received the email from the Friars Club to let me know a pipe burst over the weekend and I would have to cancel today's Gotham First meeting; but it didn't last long. :)

For me its all about the re line. If I don't like the re line they get deleted. If its important, it'll be sent again. Kind of like bills.

Most time I know from the brief info and subject what i face, including whether to delete.
