More Paint Stories

As mentioned last week, we are moving shortly. We have been very busy packing. We also have to paint two darker colored walls in our current townhouse with primer. There is a handyman we use for all sorts of things and we had asked him to do it. Then I thought why not do it myself and save a few hundred dollars. So I bought the primer and a roller and pan and cloth. Easy so far. I did one wall, rather nicely I must say. And then realized that I had not changed out of my nice jeans. Sure enough there was a splatter of primer on my nice jeans. As hard as she could, Eve could not get the stains out. So saving a few hundred dollars with the handyman cost me a few hundred in ruined jeans. Not sure what the moral is. What goes around comes around? Or don't be stupid and paint in your nice jeans.

There are old jeans I save for a "wearing" knowing that I'll likely discard them later. My problem at this point is the total lack of any t-shirts I would risk getting paint on.

I say just finish the painting and don't worry about the moral of the story. Perhaps it has nothing to do with saving the money or changing your clothes. Perhaps deep down you wanted the satisfaction of doing the job yourself and/or you really don't care about the material (pun intended) things after all.

Wear the jeans as a common Nan's fashion statement.
