Deadlines
My Friday With Fred blog appears in this space weekly and, theoretically, there is attendant deadline pressure.
A deadline is a date or time on or before which something must be completed.
When I was young I oft times failed to meet deadlines. As a consequence I paid many a price and learned my lesson. Now my reaction to a deadline is to stay ahead of it.
So, as distinguished from Mitch and Don who spontaneously compose their blogs on the morning of their appointed day or Nancy the night before, I store-house my blogs and avoid the pressure.
In the moment spontaneity may be lost, but my thoughts are mulled over and edited (sometimes with help from my wife).
I just can't handle it hanging over me. I love to blog, but it takes all kinds.

But learning Stevens mantra has been invaluable, now focus on Massive Imperfect Action.
It's working well.

My deadlines are few. FAA medical every 6 months. FAA mandated simulator every 6 months. I delegate everything else . Well....Just about . I still have to fill my cigar humidor with distilled water once a week . My accountant deciphers all the tax BS . I still cut my own firewood for the winter. No deadline. Just do a little everyday . But like you Fred. I get things done obsessively WAY ahead of time . No approaching deadlines to ruin my karmic state. Pitchers and Catchers in camp by the way . Spring training brings my annual Renaissance home baby !
