Delta Terminal

Categories
Lifestyle

We recently flew out of LaGuardia on Delta and I was amazed by the upscale 21st Century Delta Terminal. We usually fly American from LAG and the contrast was shocking.

Shocking!

Now I know why LaGuardia has been called a third World airport.

Maybe American is third World, but not Delta.

Plus Delta has direct flights to Key West!

Actually, I think that's JFK and the comment was made by Uncle Joe Biden, much to my Model UN daughter's horror (they're "Developing Nations").

Kudos to Delta. May the others follow. For now, I still avoid LaGuardia if I can.

You've let the cat out if the bag. With your network, Delta is now sure to be hard to book! All kidding aside, I love what they have done. Now Delta is almost up to where Hong Kong and Shanghai were 5 years ago!

Delta is one often considered the best domestic airline and is the most financially stable. Glad you had a good experience.

I wonder what the TSA thinks about all these anonymous comments...

So glad Delta has decided to upgrade and direct to EYW is heaven!
Enjoy paradise, we're missing you here in the greatest city in the world.

I can't comment on the terminals, since I haven't flown out of LGA in years, but my first flight experience many decades ago was on Delta. Those were the days when people still dressed up to fly and they gave little "pilot wings" to kids. It's nice to hear that at least one airline seems to be reinvesting some of its profits to add some pleasure back into what has become an utterly graceless experience.

We recently flew out of LaGuardia to Miami on American, and the terminal a real embarrassment. A dump!

Since they offered to fly cops for free to NYC for the slain officers funerals, I have pledged to always check JetBlue for plane tickets first.

...and I agree with Cayce about the anonymous comments

Delta has the best wifi! All I really care about when flying is a decent cup of coffee if I leave early, a decent glass of wine if I leave late, and on time departure and a safe on time landing. If the airlines get those things right, I am good to go from anywhere.

So ironic for me that you wrote this blog now. I was there for the first time in several years over Christmas. Was very impressed.

Trying to get my goat all of you non airline people. American is not Third World. Delta is not First World. It's all about the mentality of La Guardia Airport. LaGuardia has been a dump forever. The politics of NYC and The Port Authority are huge. All the LGA airlines lose money. Delta made a questionable business decision to spend the money that they did. I'm sure they have the most flights in and out of LGA. The other inhabitants would be foolish to dish out huge sums. LGA borders on being unsafe. The workload of pilots and controllers is huge. Conveniently located? Yes. But that's about it. It is a dump. Something else for you guys to ponder...It's ALL about the quality and experience level of the pilots. That's the bottom line. When you choose a destination...THAT'S what you need to think about. Legacy carriers folks. Bottom line. Terminal? Wi-Fi? Coffee????? Don't assume that all cockpits are equal. I can assure you they are not.
