Fax was the beginning of the end

Believe it or not, faxing is still quite prevalent in many offices. We still get a lot of requests for the option on our multifunctional machines.

I think I may buy a fax machine. The only problem is I don't have room for it as the space is being used by my mimeograph machine

There is a fax number on my business card; but if anyone sends a fax to that number it goes to my email. :)

It's kind of like the blog I would have written about using carbon paper when the copier wasn't working.

My high school graduation present was a Smith Corona electric typewriter, the first of its kind. Ten years later I was working at McKinsey & Company where, despite having IBM Selectrics and highly sophisticated cut (with a razor)-and-paste techniques, not much had changed. But 5 years after that, I worked on a fascinating consulting study to determine how word processing would change the way we do business. I, a prisoner of real cut-and-paste, was ecstatic to have a way to change things without retyping everything. I still am. So I welcome each new electronic miracle—but don't take away my corded phone, please, just in case it turns into a lifeline one of these days.

My fax works via internet. I like that it receives on my mac or my iPhone.
I would probably be reduced to taking a pic with a phone and sending the doc. Multipage doc would kill me in those circumstances. Less than a year ago I e-recycled my old fax. My all in one printer would work as a fax but that means moving wires (an entire other story (albeit no impossible). (on a primary break in action)

In 1981, a facsimile machine was cutting edge and I was proud to have one in my international marine electronics company! Does anyone remember the 32TBN telex machine?
