OK, It's Enough!

Enough snow, really, enough snow.

I don’t know about you but I have had it. Enough with snow boots, digging out cars (well, that’s really my husband’s job but I feel his pain every time), trudging through snow and slush to make it to the LIRR, the list goes on and on.

A snow day is great every so often, beautiful and relaxing on a quiet Saturday when there are no plans on the calendar. But on a workday or any other day that requires leaving the house, forget it! And they say there are two more storms in our future just in the next few days . . .

Anyone want to join me for a trip south?  We could go on a roadtrip and visit our Gotham family in South Florida!

I do not mind the snow; I worked from home. I shoveled five times. First early when I cleared Shelly's car (She said later she did not want to make me drive her because she knows how busy I get; the next time just before a conference call when I was looking for my paper that were delivered late. third time after just after my lunch break. fourth time to clear the parking spot for Shelly's car and last time after the Knicks game; not much that time but cleared the snow off my car in case I am driving Shelly tomorrow. I probably should have taken pics because it looks like WWI trenches (almost) with the snow piled rather high on either side of cleared sidewalks.

I admit I prefer Spring and Summer. Layered clothes with a hat, gloves, scarf, coat and boots is not my favorite fashion statement.

While I prefer not to having to bundle up, running around yesterday wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The subways got me everywhere I needed to go, Midtown East to Washington Heights, and my new boots kept my feet comfortable and warm. My husband worked from home; but he didn't need to shovel. We keep his car in a garage and the co-op shovels for us.

I’m not looking forward to the two storms predicted to head our way; but I’ll bundle up and get through them with everyone else. That is, unless, I’m with you in South Florida.

I will be at Thursday's South Florida dinner. ;)

I get concerned about my staff, since we all drive to work. So I lean towards closing the office. I instructed everyone this morning that, until July 1, everyone brings home work every night in case we get stuck in again.

And, while I miss Ryan being away, I have really missed him this winter, as I am now the designated helper with the shoveling.

Hate the cold, hate the snow, and HATE the snow! And did I mention I hate snow?
This weather really puts a damper on enjoying my convertible.
Where's global warming when you need it?

We haven't gotten our snow yet, but it will be in Albany tonight. They say -10 inches tonight/tomorrow. Then again on Sunday/Monday. My next door neighbor snow plows the driveway, walkway and driveway. Then we shovel. Like Corey, Kenny and/or I go out and shovel every few hours just to stay on top of it. Our dog, Merryweather, loves romping in the snow.

Having spent many years in Boston with a car, and other places where it hardly snows (Israel), I am very happy that I live in a large condo building on 3rd Avenue, where the staff shovels, the city plows, and I take the subway almost everywhere. I feel the cold but dealing with the snow (except for those who haven't yet shoveled their sidewalks this morning) is not my problem!!

"Snow" is a four-letter word. So is "cold". Who else along the network thinks that global warming is a great idea?

Not sure why you all are complaining, you don't see Fred complaining. Oops, I forgot he is busy shoveling sand away from his air conditioner. I grew up in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Got a place in Vermont. And have friends who went to school with "lake effect snow". This is nothing.

When our family used to ski regularly, EVERY weekend, I loved when it snowed! Now...not so much. However, we keep our tradition of always having a 4 wheel drive vehicle so we just plow our way through whatever!

My wife is going to kill me if I say one more time, "We're moving to San Diego."
