Bad Mailbox

3 or 4 times in the past month or two i had walked to the mailbox on my corner and sent out a few things only to find out they had never been delivered. Its happened multiple times. Is my local mail team screwing it up? I can understand if it happened once randomly but its been a few times that something wasn't delivered. Is my local mail team losing stuff? I have had to drive to other mailboxes further away. Not alot you can do in these circumstances.

"Porch Pirates" who steal packages from homes are also stealing and "washing" checks in many areas. Some people drop outgoing mail at the post office, especially when sending checks out.

If you have a house with a mailbox. Yout mail deliverer will pick it up and take it back to their branch. I do this often as we don't have mail boxes close by. That is what the little plastic flag is for on the side of the box you lift up to indicate a pick up is in there.

I think if you have a mailbox with the flags on them. You put it up to let the mail carrier know you have a pick up.

I have always dropped my mail in the blue Postal box on the corner, i felt that is safer so no one can take it.

We have a post office close to our house and will only drop mail there and these days, only inside the post office and not at the boxes outside. Hearing of too many problems with mail not getting delivered when left in a standard mailbox.
