My Summer Vacation

It is that time of year when things slow down, and people take time off.  With that, the topic of conversation often turns to vacation.  Are you taking any vacation this summer, people might ask?

This year, my answer is different.  My vacations are coming to me.

If you spend any time with me at all, you know that my children currently live far away – one very south and the other very west.

For me, this summer is blessed with extended visits from children.  It is very much like a staycation.  When my son came up, we visited restaurants, wineries, Broadway and more.  My daughter will be here for longer and so I can’t even imagine all the play spots we will visit.

I may need a vacation after this summer, but I have to say, I am pretty happy with my plans.

What are your summer vacation plans this year?

Short term, this will not be my favorite vacation; expecting long-term benefits though. I'll be spending my hiatus overseeing the painting of my apartment. Hope to recover within 3 weeks.

Good luck Susan! The end result will have a lasting impact!

Just returned from New Orleans for a long weekend with some buddies - it was very unique town with historical features and southern hospitality. In a month I am heading to Italy for 2-weeks; first time traveling to Europe and looking forward to seeing a new country/culture!
