I am Not a Cleaner

Categories
Lifestyle

I have a confession to make. I am not a cleaner. I absolutely despise cleaning. To me, cleaning is just a chore that I know I have to do.

My mother, on the other hand, was an avid cleaner. Growing up, our joke was that she used to follow my brother, sister and I around the house with her sponge. My cousin tells me that she cleanses by cleaning. I feel that way when I cook but absolutely not from cleaning.

I have decided that either you are a cleaner or you are not. I definitely am not. Are you?

When it comes to dishes and food clean up, right away. When it comes to general cleaning thr house, I tend to put it off until the weekend. My wife is a cleaner for sure. If she sees a spot on a wondow, it's addressed immediatly.

So NOT a cleaner - and suffer during those bleak periods when I don't have a professional to do the job. I have vivid memories of my first cleaner. I would let her in, leave her coffee and a sandwich, and come back a few hour later to the lovely aroma of lemon Pledge. Without help, I manage to have a made bed, a clean kitchen and a clean litter box and try to devote part of the weekend to everything else. Perhaps it's a reaction to my mother, who was like Rona"s?
