Poolside Reading

Categories
Lifestyle

For, my husband the definition of a perfect summer day is a day where he can either be in or work on our pool.  For me, my definition of a perfect summer day is a bit different. I love to just sit by the pool and read.

Generally, during the summer, I try to read one book that I consider to be “literature,” during the summer. My definition of “literature” is a work of fiction that is a bit challenging to read but has me thinking about it long after I close the book. The rest of my summer reading is dedicated to either “beach reads” or science fiction.

I am looking for recommendations. What would you recommend for pool side reading for this summer?

Not an avid book reader myself. I love reading reviews of items such as cars and electronics. Being by the pool adds that extra special touch.
Scott Bloom

Definitive answer, especially since yesterday was Bloomsday; ULYSSES, by James Joyce.

Not literature, but thought-provoking: Any of the Inspector Gamache books by Louise Perry. The characters are complex and well-developed and the series is addictive. Lighter, but hard to put down was Ruth Reichl's Paris.
