I am, admittedly, horrible with remembering people’s names and faces. There have been a countless number of times wherein someone will say hello to me, by name, and I have no idea who the person is.

My husband and I actually have it “down to a system.” If someone says hello to me and I do not introduce them to my husband he is well aware that I probably do not remember their name.  He will then stick out his hand to that person and say, “Hi. My name is Philip and you are . . .?”

It works almost every time. And, usually once they say their name, I know exactly who they are. It just takes that one prompt from my husband for the conversation to flow.

Am I alone in this? Does anyone else have this issue?

I'm pretty good, but could do better. Reason George Herman Ruth was called Babe is because he had your problem and called everyone Babe :)

I do have the same issue and not good in a sales job. I like how Phil helps, but I am rarely in a situation where I can get help. It's even harder on the phone, but I just say, "sorry and who is this again?"

It's really embarrassing when they text me on my cell and I haven't added them as a contact. Most times if I scroll up I can figure it out but not always.
