Working...to make friends

While I promote my work around the concept of making a difference - mostly in the realm of public policy, and often speak about the joy it often (always) brings this commentator, I gave some thought how it allows me to meet new and interesting people and forge relationships.  Most recently it involves two groups meeting weekly with a flurry of calls, text and emails in between.    One set of meetings brings together concerned citizens around how the state and its transit agency should finance part of its capital program (I posted an interested commentary on this issue at KeepNYCFree.com); I already wrote in this space about the lawsuit that group announced last month.  Another group (Its logo appears upper left.) came together after October 7; I already met and enjoy working closely with members of this group as well. Both include me on their Steering Committees. And of course there is all that is Gotham Networking which hosts this blog.  And this morning I start my day expecting to see many people at breakfast that is also fun because its becomes an extension of the "family business" when my daughter will be attending because of her own professional involvement.

Getting involved is one of your many positive traits. As is making a difference.

Love how networking flows through you. As Winston Churchill said, "Making friends is the best business in the world."

I have met so many people who I now call friends through Gotham. While I share business with them, I share so much more. . .

Once I have figured out how to control the Time-Space Continuum I fully plan to "pop up" at all these get-togethers. If, by then, there is still enough space at the table.

One of the most challenging aspects of the pandemic was finding ways to meet new people.Going online and finding individuals groups to engage with opened myriad opportunities.
