Carbs

Invariably, my waistline expands as the weather gets colder.  Some say this happens due to our natural need for insulation. Whatever the reason, it's happening.

Obviously, I know that carbohydrates are not so good for me as they are fattening and that being a carnivore I should consume mostly protein.

However, although I usually eschew bread, pancakes, French toast and waffles, I can’t resist French fries, pasta, risotto, ice cream, cookies, cake, pizza, and such other delicious fodder.

I make resolutions and I try to adhere, but year end fare is so tempting.

The Thanksgiving stuffing was so so good! I wonder if there is any left over!

Shelly made extra stuffing this year; I knew for sure when I emptied the bird before carving. She claimed it was a bigger bird....

I concentrated on eating stuffing which Alex made for first time. I’m still stuffed!

Yes ..... while I can actually eschew the turkey - the stuffing is irresistible :0)

I wish I could control my carbs and sweets as well as I control Annie's meals!

Making exceptions during the holidays is perfectly acceptable. Enjoy! Just eat healthy at your other meals and keep moving. So far, I still fit into the jeans I brought with me on our road trip. Fingers crossed that stays the same for the trip home. :)

Vegetables are carbs. I hope you are not avoiding them. I find starches to be delicious, but weighty, so I minimize my intake when I can. There are no rules. Every body is different, listen to what it needs.

One of the joys in life. We live mostly processed white flour and sugar free. But there is nothing better than a carb treat. French fries, pasta, warm chocolate chip cookies, toasted bagel dripping with butter, I could go on. . . . lol Happy TG and enjoy!

To carb or not to carb, a question often debated. All rules are off for the holidays, so I say, just enjoy.

I thought maybe that your belt was too tight . I’m surprised . You know at our age a gut is tough to get rid of once it settles in . Crunches don’t help on their own . You may deflect and say it’s protruding abs . Not . A six pack is hard to maintain . Check with your trainer . Core work is a nightmare . You know as well as anybody that cardio can do the trick . But you gotta do it everyday . On another note . The timing of this subject is poor . We still have another 5 or 6 weeks to go to indulge . Me ? I know no limits . Excess is the rule of thumb . Always . Whiskey , Beef , Premium ice cream , whipped potatoes with extra butter and gravy ! Chocolate Truffles ! Cardio takes care of all of it . You know that from your running days . Get on it Derf . Stop slacking . Complacency is a killer . Break out the coconut cream pie and GET MOVING !

I'm usually so good during dinner. It's those desserts. . .

Unfortunately I love bread and butter and generally have several types of really good, limited ingredients, organic bread on hand at all times. I can do without a lot of things, but bread is not one of them.
