All the Colors of the Wind

I was asked to discuss at a meeting  this week, how the South Shore was doing six months after Sandy. I talked about many of the businesses that still haven’t come back. I also spoke about all the homes that still haven’t or are just beginning to undergo construction.

Without realizing that I would, I spent a lot of time discussing  the color green. One effect of the storm that I did not expect is that the salt water kills grass, shrubbery, and trees. For the longest time a drab color of brown was the predominant color in my neighborhood. Recently, however, replanted grass has started to sprout. And dead trees and bushes have been replaced. Green and many other colors have returned to my neighborhood and, their appearance, to me, symbolizes the restoration of the South Shore.

Happy Memorial Day Gotham!

There are green plants that thrive near the shore and perhaps best for such locales

The color of spring & new beginnings...btw sorry for the delayed response. I didn't enjoy Sex in the City, but I could understand why some women might like it. What bothered me most about Girls is that it is a horrible pprtrayal of women, BY women. I found the women in Sex in the City Dopey. I find the girls in Girls unnervingly sad.

Brings to mind Andrew Marvell's 'The Garden': "A Green Thought In a Green Shade".
