Gotham Knights.

The evening before involved a rather large outing of sorts.

Some 265 or so of friends, colleagues, their family, friends, colleagues and clients. Attending either through Gotham City Networking, Inc.® or Kings FDR Tolerance Foundation of FDR Lodge 613, Knights of Pythias.

Citifield. Mets v. Yankees. Five home runs.

Fireworks during the game and after.

Some left happy because of one outcome (which disappointed others).

Scoreboard

(If only this score above held but it was nice why it lasted.  Thanks Roy Fenichel for this pic.)

Fred and CoreyBut overall a mixture of Gotham and Knights made for some good hanging out.

Many introductions made across both group. Some involved business. Others involved social recommendations. One connected a Pythian Camp graduate, now a member of the City Council, with the president of the camp. Two Pythians who did not even know they shared a lodge reconnected. Heck, even the stadium usher for our two sections was a member of my lodge.

I only wish my team at Citifield succeeded the way the team I played with at my elementary school gym succeeded at hoops in the morning.  Next time we have an evening at Citifield, maybe I'll shun making game winning shots if that kind of reverse karma helps my beloved baseball team prevail at the end.

We arrived early. Left late.  As we usually say at the lodge when reporting on events, " a good time had by all."

It was a perfect evening. My group consisted of my brother, a staunch Yankee’s fan, my daughter, a staunch Met’s fan, and my sister-in-law and I who are fairly neutral—although she wears a Yankee’s jacket and at the end of the evening I found myself rooting for the Mets. At the end of the evening my brother suggested we make it an annual event. Thank you Corey, I know how difficult it is to put an evening like this together and you succeeded in doing it for two organizations. My only regret was not getting to chat with more of my fellow Gotham members.

This morning before your comment, I was wondering why I did not say hello.

Corey thanks for arranging this fun fest. Who is to judge the results. There is no joy in mudsville - today.

Thanks Corey for putting Another Citi Field Special Night together.
The weather was great and the Game was exciting from first inning to the last pitch.
Depicted baseball of today - 5 home runs and 24 strikeouts!

Baseball drama punctuated by Fireworks featuring some good New York Rock, Punk, and Pop Standards. Could have been a Corey playlist!

One of several lessons I learned through Gotham-long lasting connections can be made anywhere.

Actually not as sure on the playlist. And still upset at Mets failure to drive in runners and wondering how to better deploy Mets players in the lineup (and on the field).
