Stepping

My FitBit is my friend.

I wanted a FitBit badly. A few months ago, my wish came true, and my FitBit appeared wrapped on my kitchen counter. It wasn’t really a surprise but I was happy.

I have now learned that my commute is chock full of steps. The stair climbing gets my step count up and running in the morning. I also have a new found respect for a trip to the supermarket. Strolling the aisles is also a good way to push up that step count.

The problem now is that I am obsessed with the count. Each day is supposed to surpass the count of the day before. Eventually, that challenge will need to fail but for now, I continue to walk.

Anyone else out there addicted to their FitBit?

I check the steps on my iPhone Health app every day; though the count isn't reliable. If you're holding it while walking, the steps don't register.

I keep thinking about getting one. You're pushing me closer. . .

sooo, my children got me a fitbit for Chanukah to help me stop and check my breath (yes, it does that a well). Steps wasn't one of the things we discussed, exercise is not really part of my vocabulary although I know I need to begin incorporating it. One of my colleagues grabbed my arm one day to compare our fitbits (and apparently steps) and gasped when he saw my number--he asked if I ever actually got up from my chair during the day. It has become a running joke when we see each other. I must admit however, I do peek at the number on days when I know I have actually been walking and do feel some pleasure when even my fitbit is shocked that I hit the 10,000 mark.

Love my Fitbit! Great incentive to move and I like the inspiring reminders and notifications, especially when the "message" says good job over goal...

Rona's lead-in made me think of Steppin' Out!
