Whether you’re Democrat, Republican or independent, the country’s unstable political climate, before and after the presidential election, has created political angst for many people.

I stopped watching and reading the news for awhile because of the stress and anxiety I felt in listening and reading. However hiding from it won't make it go away.

Ignoring it all can cause more anxiety, distrust and chaos. I read this morning that it's better to find one issue and totally understand it so being well educated on a topic your passionate about, whether it's healthcare, immigration or wiretapping, helps decipher the news that can create angst.

Tough to choose one...there are so many :)

For me the issue has always been abortion. Or more specifically the right of a woman to choose what she does with her body. I have been passionate about this issue since college-I have never ever voted for a candidate that has been endorsed by the Right to Life Party-and I cannot believe that, over thirty-five years later, it is still an issue I have to continue to be concerned about.

I saw a Republican congressman say on the news yesterday that free meals provided for poor children in schools did not measurably raise test scores. I think that pretty much says it all! The Republican Congress are the true deplorables in this country.

I am concentrating on all the wonderful things people are doing in the world. I don't need to ignore anything, just direct my actions to doing "good" and seeing "good." The news doesn't help me, though I do love me some Joy Reid every now and again, she tells the truth and remains upbeat. This awakening is so healing for the Universe.

I'm focused on healthcare and how to better lift up a community through prevention, management, and access.

I find I watch more news, more often, and keeping up on certain news important to what I do.

Climate change. Per Naomi Klein's book This Changes Everything: All of the other extraordinarily important issues are second to the problem that the earth won't be habitable by human beings in the not-too-far-distant future, given the trajectory we're on.
