Much Needed Vacation

Much Needed Vacation

Most of us know when there is tension and stress in your life, there comes a point where you must unwind and take a break. Well I did that last week. My family and I just got back from a weeklong cruise where I disconnected with the world except for those around me. I had no internet or phone service. It was a bit difficult at first, but I got used to until the second to last day when that itchy feeling came back. But for anyone needing a break, that is the way to do it.

We got see Labadie Haiti, Royal Caribbean’s private Island (technically north side of mountain beach area). It was beautiful and relaxing. My son did the Dragon Tail zip line which he enjoyed (his first time on a zip line). This was off a mountain peak and then glided down and across the beautiful turquoise colored water at the beach. We stopped in Falmouth Jamaica where we took an excursion to bamboo raft down Martha Brea River. A very serene ride and it kept the calm flowing in me. Our last stop at the end of the trip was to Nassau Bahamas where we knew would be more for shopping Duty free for some luxury trinkets for my wife. Did I cheat that last day and picked up some internet at a jewelry store for about 10 minutes, yes. But that was to send just two emails to clients.

Now we are back, and I had this last weekend to recuperate and mentally prepare myself for the dreaded Monday catch up.  Until next time…maybe Alaska

Sounds like a success to me. Taking a break from the "noise" is healthy and something I get to do on a weekly basis. It's not a whole week, but it does make a difference.
